We at Lassen Canyon Nursery, Inc. are Growers of Quality Strawberry Plants and we have been rooted in family and community since the 1950s. We pride ourselves on growing strawberry plants for both the commercial grower and the home gardener.
Kenny Elwood Jr. Now the sole owner of his family business, has been a prime example of learning the business from the ground up since 1988 and has big plans for the future of Lassen Canyon Nursery. He is determined to continue to provide a high standard of quality strawberry plants. Kenny also shares the same appreciation for the love of cattle, and hay operation as his late father Kenny Elwood Sr. We are pleased to say the third generation of Elwood’s are starting to come up through the ranks, in the same “old-fashioned” way as the previous generations.

We grow over 1200 acres of strawberry plants in California, Mexico, and China and harvest over 850 acres of hay. The next storm is taking its time getting here with the heaviest rain expected overnight tonight when most of us are in bed. Steady moderate to heavy rain will continue into the early morning hours on Tuesday and with an already saturated ground there could be the potential for mudslides and debris flows along with rises in creeks and streams and maybe even some localized flooding in low-lying areas. Oh, and don't be surprised if you hear a rumble of thunder especially for the North Coast and the Valley.

Happy Monday morning! Overcast, low clouds and drizzle this morning in many areas across NorCal this morning. The next round of rain is slowly moving closer but the bulk of it will be on the North Coast this afternoon. Much heavier rain across the board overnight into early Tuesday morning.
