We at Lassen Canyon Nursery, Inc. are Growers of Quality Strawberry Plants and we have been rooted in family and community since the 1950s. We pride ourselves on growing strawberry plants for both the commercial grower and the home gardener.
Kenny Elwood Jr. Now the sole owner of his family business, has been a prime example of learning the business from the ground up since 1988 and has big plans for the future of Lassen Canyon Nursery. He is determined to continue to provide a high standard of quality strawberry plants. Kenny also shares the same appreciation for the love of cattle, and hay operation as his late father Kenny Elwood Sr. We are pleased to say the third generation of Elwood’s are starting to come up through the ranks, in the same “old-fashioned” way as the previous generations.
Kenny believes that Lassen Canyon Nursery’s greatest asset is its employees. There is nothing short of a small army of extremely talented and devoted people to make up Lassen Canyon Nursery. We grow over 1200 acres of strawberry plants in California, Mexico, and China and harvest over 850 acres of hay. The rain and snow continues tonight with snow levels starting to slowly rise and we should start to see improving conditions on the mountain highways through the day on Thursday. The next concern will be the risk for flooding including mudslides and debris flows as a result of this steady rain.
